New Logo, Site And Moving Ahead

Meeting with new Interns this Wednesday after Board Meeting for NATAS. A lot of new work to go into. I am still behind when it comes to being creative. I need to write programs for new TV Series. I am looking back to being creative but I have been doing the business thing and then working on content for the website so I have not explored any creative ideas lately.

We shall see after Wednesday if I can get back into the creative mode and then start shooting.

Abandoning the Logo

After all these years, Prelude2Cinema will be getting a new logo. Still unsure what the new logo will look like. I have grown fond of the old one, but it is time for a change and new direction. Moving into marketing using Branded Entertainment. I have to create content for the site so I am pulling from the old wiki I have and a lot of other sources.

It seems I have a lot of info to go through. I actually found a lot of stuff online I had forgot about. Including a presentation I did at Corporate College. The entire slideshow was online.

The New Website

Working with Nogient Development to redesing the Prelude2Cinema website I did finish the first documentary and deciding to submit it next year for an award.

Going to write more of the blog starting next year. This year just has been very busy working on personal and professional life. All will be better in 2010. One decision I did made that I regret was closing down production on “Out of Darkness” but I was burnt out and also it wasn’t going as I planned due to cast changes. I’d like to revisit the show once I have some things established.

One thing that I plan to move forward with is working on some marketing for businesses. Of course I can’t do any of this until the new site is up and running.

A LOT HAS CHANGED

Still working with Bryant Anderson and happy I did finish my first documentary. Need to get more on the business side of things. I’d like to have the new site up by February and start getting some businesses to market before then. We shall see how that goes. I have Faith it will go OK. I need to come up with menu for site so Nogient can start to work on it for me.

The Window for Airing on TV for 2008

It looks like I am not going to be able to air Prelude2Cinema Presents on TV this year. It is already December and I don’t have what I need in terms of programming. Instead I am going to focus on the new partnership for Prelude2Cinema with filmmaker Bryant Anderson. We plan to produce “full” episodes of “Out of Darkness” for 2009. Also those episodes will be sold on DVD and clips will air on-line.

I am also looking to add more people to the Partnership so we can move forward with the TV Series and a few digital features. I’d like to add some people on the financial side to put in funds as well..

I really miss not airing on TV this year but I think it will work out for the best.

Also really excited about the Partnership. Bryant and I have talked over a schedule that is very ambitious but within reach. By this time next year, we should have a full season of “Out of Darkness,” and features done. A lot of work and it involves pulling in more people. As they say, “Have to put more men on the job.”

Pardners

One of my favorite movies was “Pardners” with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. Now I am gaining a partner. After working on the short “Random Violence,” filmmaker Bryant Anderson (BA) and I are joining forces to work on more movies and do a new season of “Out of Darkness.” We are doing it 50/50 and then also adding more partners to the Studio Partnership (A.M.BA. ). We are gearing up for a new season of “Out of Darkness.”

I am glad BA and I are working together. He has a lot of talent and energy. Also it is good not to be doing this alone.

I will blog more on the partnership later and include new photos of Knight Studio.

There is no E in Brand Me

Well there is but I been spelling the new website as brandemeprelude2cinema and not correctly as brandmeprelude2cinema.com

Sure sign of working too hard. I just got back from a Meeting held by the Film Commission. It was nice but Cleveland is still Cleveland and that says it is still way behind when it comes to the movie and film industry being here.

Tomorrow (well actually today since it is now 3:45am), I am getting my handyman to help me in working on the studio. We are building a new wall there. And I am thinking of going out to California for a bit. I NEED A VACATION AND A NEW PERSPECTIVE.

New Characters in the DARK

It seems from time to time, I have to write new people into “Out of Darkness.” I placed Jennifer Gutackaus into the storyline as a Prosecutor who works with my character (Raft). We did our first shoot outside Anatomy Cleveland.

Going to with Bryant on new storylines and move ahead into shooting new episodes.

The New Film Fund

Just came back from shooting a scene outside Anatomy Cleveland with Jennifer G. She is from “Blood Kiss” and new to “Out of Darkness.” The scene came out a little differently than I planned but it looks good. Have to dub in audio later. Brian was great as the Director and J.Rome lent a hand.

Me. I just played Raft, who has one too many drinks.

And because “I don’t have enough to do,” I have decided to launch a Film Fund to support the TV show and other productions. It is something I wish someone else should launch but I have some connections and I feel done right, can open doors for consistent funding productions. Which is definitely what this city is lacking.

I been contacting the people who have supported “Out of Darkness” about it. Brian, who I am working with more and more, likes the idea.

I’ll probably launch a website for it before the end of the month. Something with the Prelude2Cinema name. Here is the info on the Fund.

CREATING A FUND TO SUPPORT FILM AND TV INDUSTRY IN NORTHEAST OHIO

In order to continue producing productions and promote northeast Ohio as a center for filmmaking and TV Production, Prelude2Cinema will be creating a Northeast Ohio Film Fund. This Fund will pool financial and in-kind contributions from businesses and individuals to create more movie and TV productions on a consistent basis in Northeast Ohio.

We realize in this dire economical times, not everyone will be able to contribute financially to the Fund, but Filmmaking is about resources as well as capital. Your establishment might be able to provide a location or a sample of your product for a production. There are many different ways to contribute to the local film and TV industry. By creating a “Fund,” Prelude2Cinema will help to market the movie or TV series and your company will gain more exposure (and more customers).

Status of the Fund: We are gathering support for the “Fund” and are open to individuals, businesses and others who wish to promote and support movie and TV production in Northeast Ohio.

Editing After Dark

Finally onto the new episode of “Out of Darkness.” I broke the show into fifteen minutes episodes to air on our anthology show “Prelude2Cinema Presents.” I wish the Editor could help me out here but we changed so much from the script that I really have to make some hard decisisions on what stays and what goes. Also we lost one of the central characters, so the show is really different from what I had planned.

I admit, I would have preferred to do the show as I concieved it. I like some things in the new direction of it but it really unnerves me that I can’t shoot the scripts I and others had planned. Still I think being able to sustain the show without a major sponsor so far is a miracle.

Which brings me to the dual role of producer (finding funds for the show) and creating a show worthy of funding. Kind of a paradox. Still I have gotten some money for the show and I have faith more will follow.

I have a shoot coming up this Friday at Anatomy Cleveland. It is a Raft scene. Which means I am back on camera. It’s been a while since I played Raft.

Raft is in a bar drinking now and not as uhm “virile” as before.

I did add a new Prosecutor to the show. It is an actress from my “Blood Kiss” movie. God, that was so long ago.

Still I have to stay focused on the funding and such. It would make things easier and keep the show and other productions on track. I can’t take this version of “Out of Darkness” back to what it was supposed to be but I can move ahead and entertain our audience. And in the end, that is all it is about; entertaining the audience.
